Elizabeth A. Smith, Inc. was founded in 1993 to provide fiduciary tax preparation and accountings to lawyers, investment and accounting firms in the New York, Connecticut and Florida areas, and to manage their estate and trust files.


Elizabeth A. Smith, co-founder and President, presides over this full service Fiduciary Tax and Accounting firm, providing support to legal, financial and accounting professionals who deal in the estate tax, trust and accounting arenas.

Software companies have benefited from Betty’s consultation in formulating federal and state Fiduciary income tax programs. Clients have benefited from Betty’s more than 30 years of experience in handling probate administration, trust and estate accountings, and tax preparation. She has worked with firms ranging from sole proprietorships to some of the largest, well-known law offices, accounting firms and bank Trust Departments in New York, Connecticut and Florida.

Jing Caruso, senior Fiduciary Accountant with our firm since 1999, has been instrumental in building the company by means of providing clients with all aspects of Fiduciary Tax and Accounting services. Jing brings to our company a unique blend of legal background combined with an advanced degree in accounting, which gives her---in addition to Betty Smith---the expertise and experience needed to handle the more complex and convoluted tax and accounting issues our clients face. 

Hui Chen, CPA, has returned to Elizabeth A. Smith, Inc. as senior Fiduciary Accountant. During her sabbatical from our company Hui garnered intricate, extensive experience in auditing, tax compliance issues and the preparation of federal and state tax returns by means of having worked with law firms, banks and CPA offices throughout the tri-state area. Her broad range of knowledge in all aspects of tax preparation makes Hui’s return to E1izabeth A. Smith, Inc. not only a welcomed asset to our company, but also a valuable resource for our clients. 

Yawen Li came to Elizabeth A. Smith, Inc. as an intern during her final semester as an MBA student. After her graduation in May 2010 Yawen joined our company as a full-time, junior Fiduciary Accountant. She coordinates the administration of estates and trusts by interfacing with financial institutions, court administrators and clients to complete accounting and tax requirements as needed. As a recent MBA graduate Yawen brings a fresh perspective to her job which reflects in her ability to deal with our clients.
